*heavy sigh*
Well my friends we are here, in June, living the hard reality of Coronavirus life. Nobody could have predicted the grim outcome that we are facing in 2020. For me I was hoping that we could have some conventions or events to look forward to.
Sadly it is not to be.
Here are a list of Cancelled or Postponed Oregon Conventions for the rest of 2020.
GameStorm – was planned for March, now to be postponed until 2021 and incorporated into that years convention.
Medford Comic Con – Cancelled
Meadowlark Comic Con – rescheduled to August 16, 2020.
Furlandia – Cancelled
Salem Comic Con – Cancelled
Geek Craft Expo – rescheduled for November 14th, 2020
Portland Retro Gaming Expo – Cancelled
Rose City Comic Con – Cancelled – 2020 show to be incorporated into 2021
Eucon – Cancelled – although they hadn’t provided 2020 dates anyway
Kumoricon – Rescheduled for 2021. BUT! There are plans for a digital convention for the same dates, November 6-8.
Ani-Medford – Rescheduled for 2021
There are conventions that are still tentatively planned!

This time is hard on everyone in different ways. Some of us have lost jobs, some of us have been sick and others have lost family and friends to this horrible virus. But we all must come together to stop the spread and save lives. If giving up our conventions is what needs to be done, then that’s what we need to do. We will be sad that we are unable to geek out with our friends and strangers, but in the end the world will be better for it.
I hope to bring you better news soon. Until then, live long and nerd on my friends.
